Freda Rhodes'

work has two strands - one a response to music and the other an emotional representation of mountain and seascapes. Freda experiences colour and shape when listening to music. As a singer and visual artist, this cross functioning is particularly vivid for her. In her musical paintings she tries to set down the colourful visions in her head, sometimes taking a slice of a piece, and other times the whole piece.
